Hi Colin and everyone else These Backdoor/SubSeven Trojan Horses that keep trying are not actually getting through, because my Firewall and Antivirus is detecting them. I just keep getting the warnings that they've tried. Since I've been putting the IP Addresses in my 'Restricted Zone', it's certainly slowed down, but I did get another one trying earlier on today - this time from the Netherlands. According to the Security Check Symantec did, my computer is 'invisible' to malicious users, so it's obviously nothing personal! I just wondered if everyone else was having the same experience. It is, however, obviously very important to have an up to date security package, and to keep it automatically updated. I feel very sorry for you Maz, and I hope you manage to save all your precious files. I know what you mean about laptops - very uncomfortable to use - and as you say - everything's in the wrong place! Some good warnings and some very useful tips from all of you. Thanks. Janet |

For all those of you who have been unfortunate to have a Virus on your computer, McAfee website do a free download called Stinger, also Symantec website has a tool you can download that gets rid of viruses, I know from personal experience that these work, as we have used them at work to clean our infected systems, now we are virus free. |

Hi folks - don't talk about Backdoors to those of us with worms already!! Hope to be back in full action soon and still crossing fingers that my files can be saved. PLEASE back up your 'stuff' to disc Just In Case and invest in the best anti-virus stuff. Being without a PC on tap and facing the prospect of losing all my info is a killer - I wouldn't want any of you to be in the same boat. Using hubby's laptop which is HORRID as keys are too squishy and everything is in the wrong place. Keeping hopeful, Maz :O XX |

I thought I was the only one getting all these emails, I have had at least 25 over the last 3 days, I use 3 email addresses and they only appear to keep coming into just one of them. I have been out and bought a new antivirus as my Norton doesn't appear to be doing its job. Has anyone ever wondered who starts these viruses, who are the people who profit from these vius scares? think about that one Rosemary |

Hiya, trouble is these virus do a good job of pinching ip addresses and god knows what else they want. I keep getting emails saying i ahve sent out a virus from an address I only use for one specific thing. I have installed every patch, and ran every check known to man and I am certain I am not infected but as my email address was stolen from my website I have no chance. Its all very frustrating! |

Thanks for the tip Patricia, but I've already checked that I'm not infected, and have done a complete security scan. I've been gradually adding the individual IP addresses to my Restricted Zone, and it's slowed down now - thank goodness! They're obviously bouncing around trying to find an unprotected computer! Does anyone know how you go about reporting these IP addresses? Janet |

This Trojan is driving me mad this morning! I must have had about 10 alerts. It seems to be coming from all different parts of the world - Portugal, Minneapolis, New York, China, Birmingham, etc. Am I the only one?!! Janet |
