I have a wedding certificate of William Habberfield and Elizabeth Loiusa Peram in Ashcott Somerset 1841. I had hoped it would point out which William it was, but it givaes his age as 'Full' and his father's name is not very legible (looks a bit like John Straw) and is certainly not long enogh to be Habberfield. Any thoughts |

On Family Search I found a William Habberfield, christened 8 July 1804 at Durston, Somerset, mother Sarah Habberfield, no mention of a father. Possibly she wasn't married, and either William made up a name for the father (though in that case why didn't he make up a Habberfield one?) or gave the name of his real father, just not married to his mother. Sorry, can't come up with any other suggestion at the moment. Jan. |

Thanks for the ideas. I have the family in the 1851 Census - minus William, so I have no definite pointer to his age. I think this will have to wait until I can perfect my time machine |

Just a thought - who were witnesses to the marriage? See if one was his mother. Jan. |
