There are always lots of adverts in the various Fam Hist Magazines for suppliers. Stepping Stones, S & N, etc etc. Be warned though, that coverage is patchy and yes, they are expensive - I think so anyway! You have to decide how much use you will get from them - depends how many branches of your tree would be covered in that area at that time I suppose. Maz. XX |

Maz. I am looking at the Devon area. Seen CD's going for £30ish on Ebay. Bit too much for me. Think I will just go to the FRC in London. Thanx for your advice. Sarah. |

Sarah I got my 1851 London census from a History fair it was £39.99 It is hard to read, Street indexed only, so you have to know where your looking, or of course you can go page to page, but they are not always easy to read. Having said that I am going to buy the 1891 I think thats £49.99. I spoke to a Genealogist who lectures on genealogy and she said that personaly she buys every census she can, that wasn't sales talk either, as she said it's all personal choice I would love to have them all! Lynda. I would like to get a few but that price is a bit too much for me. Will have to make do with the FRC for now. When I win the Lotto I will buy the whole lot as rellies keep springing up in different areas. Good luck with your CD collection. Sarah. |

Sarah. If you know of others who are looking in your areas, you could buy it together. The area I have is London, it is 30 discs, I expect some I will never look at. Also I think a good idea would be to sell, swop or loan disks, it works out about £1.35 a disc. Perhaps I should set up a disc library, now that would be a good idea. Lynda |

Pat. Thank you for your kind offer. Not too sure as to who I am looking for yet. Wanted to get CD's myself as I bet people get fed up with having to search through the discs. Will keep your name in mind if the offer still stands in the not too distant future. Sarah. |

Got my copy of the 1851 census for Shropshire from mycensuses(.) com. Its long winded looking through for what you want ( as there is no index ) but at £14 I think its worth it. Allie. |

Not sure how up to date the tables are but above there are links to the various suppliers. As always, if in doubt try a WWW search! There are odd bits of censuses available online. Martin |
