Margaret - just read an article about coroners, inquests etc and apparently Coroner's records are closed for 75 years from the date of the inquest, and the survival rate for these varys from place to place. Further information might be available via www(.)familia(.)org(.)uk Where an inquest took place less than 75 years ago you might be able to find a report in a local newspaper - all this info from Your Family Tree June 2003. Jacqui Thanks for your reply. I have looked at the site you mentioned but nothing for the town I want. Burton on Trent. I have a newspaper report about the inquest, that's how I know it took place at the pub. Margaret |

Margaret - worth a try at the County Coroners Office then - in writing I would suggest - sending a photocopy of the article - may be they might have a look at the records for you. All the best Jacqui |
