On Parish records they often tell you the banns record number and when they were read. Can you get copies of these banns records? Where do you get them from? and what information is in on them. Thanks Jane |

Thanks Max I was trying to find out who the bride and grooms parents were to try and prove a link with my family tree. If the banns records don't have this information i wont bother trying to find these records. Jane |

Hi Max Thanks for that, unfortunately most of the marriages i'm interested in are pre 1837 so i don't think i can get copies of these can I? Jane |

Hi Jane, The banns are usually held in the same place as the the parish marriages register(I have a copy of mr gr-gr-grandmothers banns). As you look thru the films of the parish registers you usually find they are included on the film. As for pre 1837 marriages, you can get photo copies of the entries in the registers. Debbie |
