Hi Is it possible for you to do some Warwickshire look-ups please? They seem to have congregated around the Aston/Birmingham/Edgbaston regions, if that's any help. The name I'm interested in is Herrick (which is quite unusual for this area, it seems): John - died post 1877 Alice - died between 1891 and 1901 and would have been between the ages of 7 and 17 Alice - died post-1901 and was over 40 Frederick - died post-1891 William - died post-1901 and was also over 40 Sorry that's quite vague, hopefully the rarity of the name there will help.

Hi Yvonne! Do the CDs cover Norfolk. If so could you look for a Gilbert Mayes, died between 1881 and 1891 in Cromer, Norfolk, Indeed any deaths for Mayes in Cromer would be helpful (if there's not too many!) as my family didn't move from there for over a hundred years! Thanks, Pippa.

Yvonne. Could you tell me where you bought the national burial records and the price.? it seems a worthwhile purchase. marjorie

~Von~

~Von~ Report 4 Oct 2003 16:27

Marjorie If you go to www(.)ffhs(.)org(.)uk/General/Projects/NBI(dot)htm you can read all about it. Has price details, you can order online and gives the coverage for each county. If you can't get there with the above addy just type National Burial Index into a search engine. Yvonne

Hi Pippa Cromer isn't included in the Norfolk records. There are over 150 Mayes listed mainly for East Dereham. If you know of any other places I can look for you or I can mail them all to you if you'd like them. Yvonne

Hi Yvonne, Could you check the following for me if you have a spare moment (though with all these lookups I doubt you will have!) Walter Gabriel McKay - died approx 1910 - 1915 in Hampshire. Specifically Portsea, Portsmouth or Southsea. Also Fanny Louisa McKay died after 1898 but before 1910 in same place as her husband. Both would have been in their late 20's to early 40's. Also, do you have a John Lambert Burns died between 1881 and 1901? He was in the RN and may have died anywhere but he lived in Hampshire. If there is anything I can lookup for you on Ancestry.com in return then just email me the details! :) Best Wishes, -Kat

Hi Katrina, Sorry, there's nothing listed and I've just noticed that Hampshire has under 1,000 records for the whole county!! Thank you for your kind offer for Ancestry, I'll bear it in mind. I'm sorry I couldn't help. Yvonne

~Von~ Report 5 Oct 2003 12:51

~Von~ Report 5 Oct 2003 12:53

Hi Julie, There's nothing listed for Macclesfield but there are lots of Thomas Burgess's. Have you a date of birth for him and I'll have another look. Yvonne

~Von~ Report 5 Oct 2003 12:55

Hi Tracey, This is the only one for Congleton. Mary Cartlidge 31.5.1846 21 Congleton, Mill Street Independent Chapel. There are 46 Cartlidges/Cartledges for Cheshire as a whole if you have other names and places. Yvonne

Judith Report 5 Oct 2003 12:56

Hi Yvonne Dread to think how much work your kind offer has involved, if you have any available time I belive my father died after 1965 in the North East of England possibly Durham area. His name William Henry Lonsdale. I'm new to all this and at present have very little info. to go on. thanks even if you can't help me. Judith

~Von~

~Von~ Report 5 Oct 2003 13:10

Hi Judith, I couldn't find William, sorry. The records for the 1900s are very sparse. There are 46 Lonsdales listed for the 1800s over all of Co. Durham and 2 for the early 1900s. If I can help again as you get further back just let me know. Good luck. Yvonne
