Penny I have the 1851 London Census, bit of a nightmare to start, It is Street search only so you have to know the area and Street you relatives were living in. As I've got used to it, it's got easier it's good to see the original documents, although they are hard to read sometimes After this one I should think they get better, I will purchase the 1871 next. Can you believe I have not found one relative of mine yet, but have found quite a few for others, so it's not been a waste, and if I could afford it I'd have them all. Lynda |

Really a matter who has available the area and year that you want. You can see what is available via this site (site is not up to date but useful links). [ http://www.mit.edu/~dfm/genealogy/census-chart.html ] Martin |

Can anyone recomend a good site for me to purchase census discs from. I realise they are quite expensive but feel a wish list at this time of year might yield some results! Most of my rellies were from the Surrey, Essex, London area so this is what I would be most intersted in. Any pros ,cons much appreciated. |
