I have been really spoiled by this website and www.mycensuses.com. as most of my relatives stayed in Gloucestershire all through the 19thC. Does anyone know of equivalent sites for Yorkshire and South Wales, as a couple of people wandered off to other coalfields and I can't seem to catch up with them? Its worth bookmarking any sites you use as finding them later can prove difficult, and it only takes a minute to go to one surname if it's bookmarked. Now I've used these sites, I have slowed down a lot Anyone an expert on Yorkshire out there? |

Dorothy Have you tried a Google search for Gloucestershire strays? There seem to be dates from 1811 onwards on the following site www.census-online.com/links/England/Gloucestershire. Once on this site you choose the county where you wish to search. There are plenty of other sites to choose from too so you might get lucky! Alternatively try a search for Yorkshire census coalfield with any of the words 1851, 1891 etc and exclude 2001. Sue |

Thanks Sue. I hadn't seen that website before. Couple of broken links which were easy to report, so shall have a happy time once they are up again. |
