Hi, I'm hoping someone with the CD can check the following. I'm looking for a Frances Selina Sutton born in Hastings c1872. The only result that vaguely matches is the E.S. Sutton listed below. I'm thinking that the E might be an F and wonder if the CD will reveal any more info. William E. SUTTON Head M Male 39 Hastings, Sussex, England Assistant Statr M.A. SUTTON Wife M Female 35 Grays, Essex, England E.S. SUTTON Daur Female 11 Hastings, Sussex, England Scholar W.H. SUTTON Son Male 4 Hamstead, Middlesex, England Scholar Dwelling 20 St Georges Rd Census Place Hastings St Mary In The Castle, Sussex, England Family History Library Film 1341243 Public Records Office Reference RG11 Piece / Folio 1025 / 6 Page Number 5 Thanks in advance, Crista |

Crista Have checked the CD, it gives no more info than the website. It's still E S Sutton. The CD is still a transcription. If you could get someone in the Hastings area to check the fiche to look at the original image, that might help you. Margaret |

Thanks Margaret. I wasn't sure there would be much more on the CD but it was worth a try. Crista |

Crista I'm sure if you ask on here someone in the Hastings area would take a look at the image on the fiche at the local library. You have the address, so it wouldn't take much finding surely. Margaret |

Margaret, Do you mean it is possible to look at copies of the original census pages and would this just be in the local library? Crista |

Crista The 1881 census is like any other and is on microfiche at local libraries and county record offices. Well, it was before the CD's came on sale anyway. The 1901 is available the same way as well as on the net. So, anyone who could look for you would be able to see just what the enumerator had written. Perhaps even get you a print out Margaret |
