I have failed to find my great great grandmother, Emma Bassell, born 1857 in Pill, Somerset or her family anywhere. I've found the marriage record of her and my gg grandfather James Durbin in Bedminster in Sept 1875 and I know she died in March 1917 in Glamorgan, I have the burial record. But I cannot find anything else for her and her family, does anyone have any idea where I can look now please? All ideas will be gratefully received. Thanks. M. |

Hi, In 1857 Pill was in the Parish of Easton in Gordano. Have a look to see if there is a baptism for her there. The Bishop's transcripts have been filmed by the LDS on film number 1526168. Order the film at any LDS family hostory centre and you can search it there. Hope this helps, Gwynne |

Thanks everyone, I have the Durbin info for 1881, thanks Max for the 1891 info, thanks Gwynneth, I am off to LDS for a look. I believe Pill was part of Bedminster, because it appears in 1901 as part of Long Ashton, which was originally Bedminster, please correct me if I'm wrong. What I am actually looking for is the info on the Bassell family, if anyone can help me there. |

Hi, I got the information about Pill being part of Easton in Gordano until 1858 from the genuki pages. It may be worth having a look at the Somerset Record Office website to check. Gwynne |
