Adoptive parents

Can you add 'adoptive parents' as well as birth parents. My dad was 'adopted' in 1915 but we think not officially as his father died in WW1 and he had made a pact with his best friend that they would look after each others families if anything happened to them. We are in touch with all sides of the family so there would be no problem with their names being in the open, but can I add them anywhere?? Shirley Moth |
