Try rebooting your computer. It speeded things up for me. |

Carol, I think that's just a coincidence. If GC is running slow it's because they have a problem with their servers. All other websites are fine. Crista |

It's definitely slow this morning, and dawn hasn't broken yet. |

I deleted my temporary internet files - it may be conicidence again but it is working much more quickly I also sent a message to gc last night (took me 15 minutes) and asked them to post something on the opening page - like they are aware of the problem and are trying to rectify it? Might help - might not! Sylvie |

Think the site's just so busy these days they just can't cope with us all. Wasn't too bad earlier in the day yesterday, problems from tea-time until about half ten (when everybody wanted to get on) then it speeded up a bit as people went to bed. GC will have to upgrade the system to cope with so many folks. |

It was very slow last night, in fact I gave up. Given that we all seem to be suffering, then the problem is at GC's end. Looks as if they need to increase their bandwidth. |

Dear Members, We are not aware of any performance issues last night or this morning (our technical logs show nothing unusual) but we will keep an eye on it throughout the day. ## Please could we again politely ask that any questions that you have regarding the website or your membership are sent directly to the GenesConnected Support Team through the Help area of the website rather than being posted here - these Message Boards are intended for you, our members to use and, although we do read the boards from time to time, we are a very small team at GenesConnected and we may well miss certain postings on here - you can also be guaranteed of a quick personal response if you email our support team directly ## |

It may just be my PC getting to the end of it's lifetime, but GC definitely seems to be slower since they re-vamped it. Does anyone else have this problem? I also couldn't get on a couple of the message boards yesterday and then I got kicked out altogether when I tried to read messages on this board. |

Here's something you can do to see where the problem is. http://www.dnsstuff(.)com/ and where it says "Tracert" - "Traces the route packets take to this host" type in www.genesconnected(.)co.uk A page will open up with the times along the routers. If you get stars it means it is timing out. Look at the last hostname before the stars. Mine is something like pos0-0.er1a.lhr3.uk.above.net. LHR is Heathrow. Crista |

I had trouble logging in earlier - kept on toiming out. In the end I went to Friends Reunited and used the link there to get back here and that seemed to work fine. Liz |

Have also had dreadful problems yesterday again and this morning it is slow. I did the trace that Crista suggested and got the same result, it seems to time out at LHR. Last night I also tried the link from FR but although that worked once I only got the GC home page and could not get any of the message boards. It threw me off and then even that link didn't work. Although GC say they don't see any problem it is very evident that there is a big problem. We should all e-mail them and perhaps they can investigate. Kathleen |
