Vivienne, Thank you for trying. I wonder if I could ask you to try the same enquiry, but looking for Patrick Halloran? I should have mentioned that I have found some entries with O'Halloran and others with Halloran. I have tracked him in the 1881 census and the 1901 census and I know that he didn't leave the area. He should have been living in the Deptford area of London/Kent with his wife Catherine and son John. Is there an address or any other details of the household? |

Vivenne, could you plese look up for me a Henry Alfred Sutton. he would have been 42 at the time of the Census, born in sevenoaks, kent. He should be living with his wife Susannah Sutton who was born middlesex London Hall and would be 36 at the time of the census. I have found them all living together in the 1881 and 1901 census. in the 1881 they lived in sevenoaks kent. whereas in the 1901 they lived in middlesex. I also know that Henry's Occupation was a house painter. it would be very interesting to see, where they lived in 1891 and who was living with them. Thank you very much for your kind offer. |

Could you please see if there is anything for Patrick O'Halloran? He should have been living in the Deptford area of London/Kent with his wife Catherine and son John. Is there an address or any other details of the household? Many thanks. |

Hi Viv, could you possibly look for Hannah Derbyshire, born approximately 1880 in either Cheshire or Staffordshire, parents were John and Mary, but I think they have been found and she wasn't with them (bit vague as this is for my mother-in-law). In 1881 she was aged 5 months and living with her parents in Manchester. Mothers maiden name was STONIER, so may be living with them. Thanks and Best Wishes, Carol. |

Just remembered another one you might be help me with. I'd be grateful if you could find Henry Francis Middleton (aged around 21 in 1891). He was born around 1870 in Harrow (Hendon), Middlesex. Parents George (a fly-driver) and Jane. Henry was married in York in 1896 when he was living in Clifton Croft (Clifton Green) York, so he may have been there in 1891. At the time of his marriage he was a groom, presumably working for the owners of the house. I would be interested to see who was living in Clifton Croft at the time even if Henry wasn't there. His wife (Laura Bradley) was living at Clifton Green at the time of her marriage so any record of her in 1891 would also be nice (her father was called William Bilbrough Bradley and was an hotel manager). I have only been able to find Henry on the 1901 census when he and Laura had moved down to Enfield but have been unable to find any sign of them on the 1881 census so don't know when or why Henry went to York. 09/11/03 - Have found out that Henry was still in Harrow in 1881 but his father George seems to have died prior to the '81 census. Many thanks. Helen |

I would be grateful if you could search for Edward Terry (aged 39 in 1891 - Labourer), wife Sarah Ann (aged 36), their son Edward Robert (aged 12) and daughter Louisa (aged 6) living in Poplar, East London. In 1881 their address was 55 Tetley Street, London. I need to see whether they had any other children and whether Sarah Ann was still alive. Thank you very much for your kind assistance. Helen |

YES PLEASE!!!!! I've hit a brickwall with my g-grandfather. He is listed as Edwin Frederick Shortman on his son's birth certificate in 1903, but seems to have been known generally as Frederick. His age on the 1901 census is given as '23' born in Bath, Gloucestershire; but his marriage certificate and death certificates all give conflicting ages. He would have been born between 1875 and 1879 depending upon which source you believe. His marriage certificate states his father's name as Frederick, but this may also have been a name he was known as rather than his given first name. His father's occupation is given as gamekeeper. I have been unable to find him in the GRO indexes from 1871 till 1882, or find the family in the 1881 census index, or his father on the 1901 index. Any help would be greatfully received and I would be eternally in your debt. Thanking you in anticipation Lesley, Hull |

I'm not sure if you can do just name searches. If so then please can you look to see if there are any Chipperton family members. I am particularly interested in the London area but if there are any in the rest of the country and you can search easily i would appreciate it - it is a very unusual surname and there are probably not many. Thanks for any help that you can give me Alison |
