found a good link today. http://stat-acc-scot(.)edina(.)ac(.)uk It has all sorts of useful background information on Scottish Counties, Parishes etc. Give loads of details about what life was like back in 1700s to 1800s. You can pick up lots of little details about different clans. Well worth a look if you are researching scotland. I apologise if anyone has already posted this site. Pam |

I have sometimes heard of people being described as "3rd. cousin, twice removed", etc. and have never really understood what it means. Searching for some ancestors in Eastern Europe, I came across this "Relatives Calculator". This is either a touch of wimsey, or a useful tool, depending on how you see it ... http://www.shtetlinks.jewishgen.org/krakow/relations.asp Enjoy ! P.S. if you have jewish relatives from Krakow, click on "site menu" on this page. There is all sorts of info. here, vital records from 1810 upwards, etc, etc. |

This site attempts to put old money values (from as early as 1264!) into todays money. For Sterling... http://eh(.)net/hmit/ppowerbp/ For US Dollars... http://eh(.)net/hmit/ppowerusd/ Remove those brackets! Jason. |
