Great Aunt Cissie was actually Marjorie Elizabeth. To confuse things even further her daughter was also called Cissie, so we had Big Cissie and Little Cissie! Sue

My Auntie Cis was christened Alice Maud, but her siblings called her Cis as she was the eldest girl.

I know a Sarah who has always been known as Cissy, as her mother initially didn't realise she was pregnant - thought she had an ovarian Cyst!!!!

My aunt Ella Margaret was called Cis. I asked my dad only the other week, why? He says everyone called her that and that he had never called her by any other name. I reckon it was a shortening of "sister" but spelt differently. Gary
