Ah, okay Karen! Didn't know there was definately another one. I just thought it might be useful as I have at least two certificates in front of me that have specifiic 'Southsea' addresses printed on them, but Landport in the subdistrict box. Strange. I wonder if anyone knows here the old boundares lay? -Kat

Karen - remember that boundaries have changed - Portsmouth and Southsea were all inter-mingled! I have a certificate or two where the address is listed as being, ----- Southsea in the sub-district of LANDPORT. So your wilton terrace is probably the same one. Thank you so much Eileen I have emailed you, the photos were wonderful! I have another adress now, 12 Oxford Rd, Southsea - which is where the family were in 1898 when my great-grandad was born. (according to his birth cert) but I am still hoping for a clue in the address from 1891 - so fingrs crossed! -Kat

Hello Kat, have photo's of Edmund road and Wilton Terrace, just need your e-mail to send them. I have also looked up the 1891 census disk, and Walter or Fanny are not on it. I will look at the census when i next go down to the records office. Eileen in Portsmouth

On the 13th of January 1891 he lived at 3 Goodwood Rd, Southsea and was a cab driver. His daughter died aged 1day you see. By 1898 he was living in Edmund Rd. He was always living in Southsea but neither him nor his wife are on the 1891 census. -Kat

Eileen - Thank you so much. I look forward to hearing from you. Karen - Thanks for that. It is this troublesome family again - they seem to have been against recording their info! My great great grandad has no birth certificate, no death certificate, no death for his wife, no birth for his daughter, no census info forhimself in 1881, no census for him and wife in 1891 and there is no death for his father. I am beginninning to get really disillusioned with this family - it is always the ones you really want to find who are so dratted difficult! ;0) Thank you both. -Kat

Thank you Eileen! They lived at No.1 Edmund Road. I wondered if it was formerly called Wilton Terrace, as that it where the family lived before (in both 1881 and 1891). I don't know much about either street you see. If you are in Southsea and it is not too much trouble then a photograph would be lovely - the person that lived there was my paternal grandmothers father and she has alway been upset that her dad's things (all family photos, everything) was discarded by his landlady while he was in service). Thank you once again, -Kat
