Help - can anyone answer me how I find out where my mother was working in 1938. I know it was in London and she worked as a ladies maid and cook for the gentry and well to do. I have no idea which part of London she worked in and no idea who. So can anyone tell me where I should go or write to. I have written to the National Insurance even though I have no idea what her National Insurance Number was but they have refused to help me. I would appreicate any help anyone can give me.
