Ann/ Geoff Thanks for details, I didn't know about fair - as I'm a Gloucester girl (living in Wilts) I'm hoping to go as 50% of my tree is from Glos. Thanks again. |

In fact it's free (and NOT on Eastern Avenue - lost in Gloucester on Saturday morning is not my idea of fun!) http://mysite.freeserve.*com/gfhs/opendays.htm (remove *) |

I'm in Abbeydale Ann :) It does sound interesting, and you jogged my memory by mentioning Glos research, my family are not Gloucester folk, but my husbands are thanks for the info Geoff. |

Hi Samantha Whereabouts are you in Gloucester? I am at Churchdown. Well worth going - can't remember how much it is to get in but it won't be a lot. It is even worth going if you are not researching in Gloucester because there is so much to learn from stallholders, and lots to see. If you are researching glos, take names, dates and information with you, you never know what help you may get. At the Somerset one I went to someone kindly looked on parish register for me for my husbands Grandfather and we found him. Ann Glos |

Stallholders selling their census CDs, maps, genealogical charts, old postcards. County family history societies trying to get you to join (possibly doing lookups). Bespectacled grey-haired men in blue fleeces trailing around behind their wives. Open to all, probably £2 to get in. |

I'm ten minutes away from there, (my husband attended Crypt school actually) but I knew to all this, although learning fast ;) What can I hope to see there? Is it open to anyone? I'd like to know more if some kind person would fill me in.... In the nicest possible sense of course! |
