Can anyone help please? I am having great problems tracing my mothers family. Her grandfather Alfred Cleave was married to a Charlotte Pittham in 1877, and they had 7 children (as far as I know), the last in 1891. In 1893 my grandmother Annie was born to Alfred and Charlotte Batchelor. My mum remembers Annie telling her that Charlotte B died when Annie was about 3, and we have found a death cert for Charlotte Cleave, wife of Alfred, in 1897, all details match for address etc. However, I cannot trace any other death for a Charlotte Cleave, and can't find any information on Charlotte Batchelor at all - there is no marriage record, and she has come and gone between census dates, so I have nothing to go on. I have lots of records of the first Charlotte, except her death, so how can I prove the death cert relates to Charlotte2, and where can I find out more about her? Help! |
