Hi Sally Elizabeth Smale is married on the 1881 census at Ashton-u-Lyne Lancashire, her name is Elizabeth Sharratt and she is a widow, her son James William was born 4 months after the death of her husband. I have her marriage certificate and it shows her fathers occupation as a Smith. Thanks a million for your help, perhaps I can help you or someone else in the future. Cheers Frances

Hi, I'm looking for the Govier family. My great great great grandfather was Samuel John Govier he was born 1838 in Bidford or Parkham (they keep changing on the census) Devon. I would like to know who his parents were I think his father was called James not sure. Govier can also be spelt Goveyour, Goveyeur, Govegone and Govegrin if it helps. Thank you. Fern Blackman. P.S. Hi Sally i,m looking for a Charles James age in 40,s born in Devon I have his wife and children in Great Torrington in the 1851 census but not him. No one has looked for him i assume he would not go to far. If it is not enough info i understand. I really need to find out where Charles was born so i can further my research.
