Just thought I'd let people know I went to the Cambridge Records Office at County Hall and its brilliant! I asked to see the parish registers for Fordham , and thats just what I got. Real parish registers. It is very small and cramped but wow! The staff are so helpful. If you can get there to do your own research then do as I can highly recomend it. Viv |

I have been looking at the C.F.H.S. (Cambs family history society) web page. It has Strays, 1841 and 1851 census online.plus other bits and bobs. Have a look, its well worth it. I have just found my great grandmothers family and also my great grandfathers family. Lots of new dead relatives to add to my tree. Viv. It can be accessed from the cambs site I gave at the start of this thread. |

Rosemary, I've got more info off of the cambs website and cambs family history group than I can believe. Will have to look at the records sometime but I've got plenty to work on at the moment. Hope you can find something there. The Hugh Wallis site is a good source as well. Good hunting, Viv. |

Glad to hear I'm not the only one looking at Cambridgeshire the problem seems to be pre 1800 after 1837 there's lots of info but it's getting past that magic figure! The only answer will be to get ourselves over there and search the records!! |
