Wow, after getting my first death cert of what I hoped was my children's & husband's ancestor, I've got on a bit of a roll. First, this Isaac Bridges b. Norwich 1801 died in the Heigham Workhouse, which indicates that things were probably getting bad enough for his son, Isaac Bridges b. 1827 to head for the antipodes(though we're not sure when...any census CD look-ups would be appreciated). They were both plasterers, so given the family christian names used here in NZ, I'm 99% sure they're father & son. Don't know about siblings though. Anyway, then I put the workhouse into a Google search and ended up finding the Norfolk Record Office site, which revealed a treasure..a conveyance which not only stated that our (younger) Isaac George Bridges had come from Norwich to Christchurch NZ, but ALSO that he had been living in Campbell Creek, Victoria, Australia in between. He was married here to Ann Smith in Timaru in 1870, having arrived in NZ in 1869, and was listed as a widower, so I'd love to know if his 1st wife was in Norfolk (can't find one so far) or Aus. www*a2a*org*uk/search/index*asp was a second site where I put in his name and presto! - worth a try!
