George W Bush was decended from an Edward Bangs born 1591, and I am decended from this Edwards brother. I will work out the actual relationship one day.

I wasnt boasting Helen, it just took me by surprise. A quick calculation using a formula someone gave on here would make us 10th cousins twice removed. There is also an ocean between us. I might try writing, not sure yet.

Don`t scare me like that. I put this on another forum and was told that we could take this back to Adam and Eve or in the case of George Bush, a one cell amoeba Its a bit of fun and also a bit odd to find this out.

Carol, Well done and congratulations I think? Is that a very fitting name for an ancestor of both the George Bushs' Edward BANGS? Just goes to prove you never know what we are going to find I'm hoping I will find something interesting, don't know what's ahead as I am only at the 1700's!!! I just hope I don't find I am related to someone really nasty, that would really upset me. I was hoping I was related to someone like Florence Nightingale or Mary Seacole (unlikely). Hey Pat, I wouldn't want to be related to Old Florence .... lord knows how she managed to get put on such a high pedestal ! If you look into he record a bit better you'll see that she was a right old dragon and more soldiers died in her care than in the field hospitals. She should have been known as Nurse Nightmare! WMDs are weapons of mass destruction. The term doesn't really mean anything exact, which is why you use it when you want to con a country into going to war.
