And to confuse things a bit more i've found a marriage for a Sarah. A. Tyrer to William Rimmer in Liverpool 1890!! Maybe Annie/Alice was a middle name. Tracey |

Louise Just to confuse things even more William and ALICE Rimmer appear on the 1901 Census!! Perhaps she wasn't quite sure what she wanted to be called. lol :-) Jackie |

Jackie - that's where i got the name annie from - but i can't find a Annie tyrer marring a William Rimmer would it possible though that if her name was Alice that 17 years later - her younger sister would be called alice as well I know for a fact the younger one is definatly an Alice (great grandma - just teh sisters are driving me potty Louise (really confused) |

Oooo yup I've found it now Jacqueline, and to throw a spanner in the works it looks like she has a little sister called Alice! so you could take your pick depending on which age fitted! :D Sioux |

Hi Louise, I would go with Alice, my first impressions were that the first letter is an open A there's definitely an I in it and was unsure if the end is an E or an N if you already have the name Alice I would be incline to go with that one..... I bet they never thought we'd have this much trouble trying to read their curly scrawls eh? ;) Doh ..... beaten to it! Sioux |

Hi Louise Beleive it or not, she is Annie. Have just found family on 1891 census and she is down as Annie (daug) 22. Also listed is William Rimmer (son-in-law) 21 Jackie |
