Manchester, was a huge employer during the industrial revolution. The below site was a workhouse and looking for some family ancesters shouldn't be too hard if you have an idea of names or ages. The site can be reached by looking under :"1881 census: residents of manchester workhouse crumpsall lancs" This is not the official 1881 census so is free to access. Hope it helps some of you out there. |
