Mike, Will send email in a bit - have your addy on my main address but currently logged on with the address I now use for family history - other one was getting a bit full. Trying to download for the 3rd time a map of Leicester 1835 that Carolyn is sending me - keep getting hiccups!! Are you doing any 1841 searches round the Calais Street/Albion Hill area?? Carolyn has followed up on the info you have sent me and wonders if these folks of hers are anywhere to be seen. James and Maria Newton were on Calais St in 1832 and Albion Hill in 1851. James was a carpenter, and they should have their son, William aged about 8 with them. James was born in Somerby and Maria in Casterton, Rutland. Thanks, Maggie

Hi Mike, Thank you very much for your help. Can i also ask if it would have been normal for someone to start off life as a Frame Work Knitter and then go on to be an Ag Lab? Seems a bit of a change doesn't it...I haven't come across that before - usually my lot stayed at one job, either Ag Lab or something like fwk for life. Maggie , Have sent you my email address for your friend of a friend. Look forward to hearing from them, Karen

Karen, Got your message and will pass your address on. Mike, Glad you escaped from 1841 OK!! Thanks so much for tracking Carolyn's chaps. Thomas Butler on Northampton Street is interesting - John's father in law, Thomas Hollins was a shoemaker on the same street. Henry I don't know about - will have to store him and see if a link appears. Appreciate your time and interest. TTFN Maggie

Greeting's Again....... Karen Ummm .... Thinking out aloud and reading between the lines... The Head of that household that Thomas was with back in 1841. Was a " Ag. Lab." The address " Heath" suggest that it could have been a Small Holding or a tied Farm ? So maybe Joseph departed this life and Thomas took over..... and got to like the life ?.... We are all looking to better ourselves....even today......? MIKE.
