Oh joy, today its like instantaneous! Wonder if it will stay like this tonight? Thank you so much GR and Michelle if this is truly sorted. Its bad enough having to minimise every time hubby walks in the door, but when you are waiting 10 minutes for the page to turn its agony. 6pm. spoke too soon?????

SOWNESS DUE TO AMMOUNT OF TRAFFIC BEING PROCCESSED BY SITE...THE MORE POPULAR THE TIME THE BUSSIER IT IS....HENCE PEAK PERIODS CAN BE VERY SLOW....BESIDES PUTTING UP A SECOND SEVER SITE GN PROBABLY CANT DO MUCH ABOUT IT.....I WAS THE SAME LAST NIGHT ....I FELL ASLEEP WAITING ...AND THEN GAVE UP(I HAD BEEN ON NIGHTS THE NIGHT BEFORE, NOT SLEPT ALL DAY AND WAS KNAC.....) THE NET IN GENERAL WORKS THE SAME WAY .... ANNOYING BUT ....

I can't see how a reply from them about a general grumble by lots of people about the site can be described as 'private'. Kath. x

Kathleen - GR removed a reply of mine when I quoted what they said because they then told me that I should not quote private correspondence with them. Joy

Yes its ok early in the morning, but as more and more get on its gets slower. Dont forget that our american cousins join us late evening which must put a big load on the system.

Our computer is fine. Other sites are fine. It was only this site. Free BMD is "slowish" at present but at least an explanation is given for it. Joy

Hi Jeanette Glad you didn't think i was being offensive - I certainly didn't intend to be. I've never had a reply removed before and I think I've had a few moans that I would have considered more worthy of removal than this one. Kath. x

I added a reply to this thread last night quoting a reply I got from GR yesterday about the problem, and also giving my thoughts on the subject and it appears to have been removed by GR. I wasn't offensive and just stated my opinion that I didn't think they wanted to spend any more money on extra band width even though they are getting a lot of extra visitors to the site. Wonder how long this reply will stay here???? Kath. x

If you send an email don't forget to add what time this occurred and what page you were trying to view. Also, get your stopwatch out and add how long it took for the page to load. Crista

Getting in in the first place is my problem - I usually time out before I am in - but I have found a quicker way!! Having said that, the service uis still quicker than the GRO (still waiting for certificates ordered 3rd Jan) Peter in NZ

Painfully Slow!! Email sent…eventually! People are losing out, how are we supposed to post the results of our look ups etc.. I really cannot be bothered.
