I have just been going through my files of paper and filling in "best" sheets with all the info I've accumulated. Whilst doing my great-grandfather Emmets' sheet I was about to fill in his wife's death date and paused. She was the informant on his death in March 1875, but according to the info I had she died earlier in March than him. I went to the original death cert for her and looked carefully. It's hard to believe, but it didn't say March it said April! Now if its possible to read March when it says April no wonder transcribers have such a tricky time of it! I am double checking all my certs now! nell
