Hi Mike! I was wondering if you could take a peep at your marriage records for me? I am looking for the maiden name of Mary A Langham, married to William, I would think just before 1880 when their 1st child was born. From Hinckley (both of them). Its an indirect line, and I cant see anything on ancestry/free bmd, and didn't want to trawl 1837 unless really necessary!! If nothing, I will order a birth cert for one of the children. Ta Star! Sarah :-)) |

Mike, Thank you so much. I've been tearing my hair out over Amelia Hart! I've just checked her marriage certificate and her father's occupation is down as a General Labourer. Also just looked on 1871 and there is an Elizabeth Hart, aged 23, lodging at an address in St Marys. It looks like New Bridge Street but I can't read it properly. I've been basing my findings on 1881 when she was married to my gt-gt-grandad, Charles Winterton. I will have to try and find a birth certificate now and check it out, but it looks as if you may have cracked it for me. Also the Myring info looks as if it is the family i'm looking for. Once again many, many thanks Sandra |

Paula, I did get a message from you. Thank you. All the info is for my family. Have replied requesting any other info you have. Many thanks. Mike I'm trying to find the family of JOHN MYRING born about 1841. Also trying to find my gt-gt-grandma AMELIA HART The 1881 census puts her as being born about 1854, but her 1871 marriage certificate gives her age as 24, making it 1845. Her address was given as Oxford Street, Leicester, but I can't find her on the 1871 census on the Ancestry website. Her fathers name was WILLIAM HART. Would be grateful for any help or advice on this one Sandra |

Hello Leicester People - I am stuck for the birth of Thomas Maddock around 1814 in Whitwick. He had a brother Joseph born in Whitwick but christened in Repton Derbys. I have the christening dates of all his brothers and sisters (all the rest of them but one in Repton) but the one I want? Oh, lordy, no!!! He is the only one missing. If anyone has access to the Whitwick registers for this time, perhaps they could help. I also do not have the marriage of his parents William and Ann, which might have been in Whitwick and would have been around 1813. Thanks in advance for any help that anyone can give me. |

Sandra>> I've noted down details of some Whitmores when i was looking through the parish records for St James, Aylestone, they are early to mid 20th century so not that old but let me know if you want details. I'm not related to the Whitmores myself but i noted down details as my grandmas sister married a Whitmore. They were also from the Aylestone area. Paula |
