Sue and anyone else interested in Countesthorpe it is probably worth getting in touch with the new heritage group as i think they are getting together a lot of photos and other stuff. They have a display of photos at Greenfield School in May. Not sure how far back they will be going, suppose it will depend on what people have Paula

Hi Mike, Thank you for your reply. I am not sure of the year of his baptism but here is his name William Henry Timson, he was born in Whitwick in 1885/86. The last address i have of the family in Whitwick is School Lane. I hope that makes sense. Linda

Landlord of Tramway Inn in 1901 census was Henry Bodycot brother of my 2 x g'grandmother Ann - Bodycot, then Goadby, then Smith, then Riley! My Mum worked at the Co-op Dairy in the office before the war. That was one of the stroies she told. My Uncle John worked at Portland Shoes for something like 40 years - he hated it - every single day of it. Have found my lost boys at last on the 1891 census at 2 Denmark Street which was obviously a house that stayed in the Bodycot family. Still can't find them on the 1881 and am cursing Ann for having one child in 1871 - after the census - and another in 1882! Thou shalt not...makes it v confusing for those who come after. Sheila....... Denmark Street is on the Alan Godfrey Old maps you will need:- Leicester (NE) 1813. On the A~Z... Page 9. G 2 / H 3. If you can see Montreal Road You will see a Church then Taylor Street. If you stand on the corner of Montreal Rd & Chester Close That is roughly where Denmark Street was. MIKE. Sarah......
