Thanks for that I had better make sure I have copied all info gleaned from hopefully new found friends in case they suddenly delete the thread and I will have to start again lol Ann |

That's definitely a good idea Ann - especially if it was a look up. I have several word processing files for different surnames in my tree and just copy and paste across anything that I think will be useful. Jeanette x |

Hi Jeanette I have copied and pasted so much I get confused as to where I've put it especially when you are still sitting here in the early hours telling yourself it was time for bed a couple of hours ago and you have to get up again to go to work Day off today - getting nothing done house wise as usual lol Ann |

Hi Jess It wasnt my thread I was watching it with interest as to people not replying etc and others of you who realise some people make no effort to look anything up for themselves - I am very new to this and do not want to upset people by asking dim questions - am trying to work things out before asking what appears to be something I could easily have found - is anything easy??? Now Ann, when I said I had these files I didn't say that I could find the info I wanted at the touch of a button! lol. I've been copying and pasting so long, it takes me ages to scroll through it all. I'm not getting any housework done either. Never mind, it will still be there tomorrow. Jeanette x |

Ann Is the thread you were watching called 'Is it just me'? posted by Susan aka Matt. It's still there as far as I can see. And don't be afraid to ask. Us 'oldies' just like a good moan now and again! lol Jeanette x |

Jeanette No it was somebody asking for a lookup and was being pointed in the direction of making an effort to find info - Ann |

I'll second what Susan says. We are more than happy to help the newbies who are just finding their way. It's those that have been 'at it' a while but can't be bothered to even learn or try to find things on their own. Jeanette x |

Just keep asking Anne, we are not all grumpy and if we didn't help, we would only have to go and do some housework, so save us from that. Linda! |
