After looking at some of the threds I have noted some people have trouble with place/person names becuse there relles unable to spell have said the name and the census taker has put down what he heard, this.. might then help. Arsk some one from the area in question how thay pronouce the name Phaneticly. An exsample. I lived in Alresford in Hants, But any one from the town would pronouse it ALLSford. I exspect the same gose for peoples name Becuse of my accsent I say my own name as WALLker and not WALKer. knowing how a name is said in any given area might help all thoughs who have miss scribed relles.
