Mine's the Red Lion Hotel in Burley in Wharfedale. It was run by my great grandfathers nieces father in law and she and her husband worked and lived there in 1901. A very slight connection but a connection - a twig maybe! Debby Another way of putting it is my great uncles daughters father in law (I think!)

Jayne, I think The Ship's still there on Plumstead Common. I'm going up to Plumstead at the weekend I'll ask my Brother. Mine is Earl of Moira, Shooters Hill (then Charlton), name of Huxstep. My daughter also ran pub called Coventry Cross about 10 years ago and another in Surrey but I've forgotten the name of it. Jan

The Fox and Hounds in Carshalton 1901. Family HAWKINS. Pub is still there and relatively unchanged from the 1901 photo I have of it.

Mine is Three Cups Inn, Spring Road, Sedgley 1881 census. Adress is number 3 and he was a blacksmith and publican so I guess it was a house turned into an inn. Name Joseph WARD.

My ggrandfather, John Taylor, was a publican in the 19th Century. He was the landlord of: 'unknown' pub 194 High Street Brentford, Middlesex and 'The Catherine Wheel' Little St James Street, Pall Mall, London

My husbands great grandmother and her second husband had the NEVILLE HOTEL, at 123 High West Street (or High Street West), GATESHEAD, Durham in 1881. Kath. x

My Great Grandfather Robert Turner ran THE GREYHOUND at Fordham in Cambridgeshire until about 1900. The pub is still there but has a new name... The White Pheasent ..... I think! It seems to be more of a resturant now though. Viv

My Great Grandfather Richard Beels was publican of: The King Charles 11 in Cambridge 1899 - 1901 The pub is now an art gallery. Ken.

My Gx6 Grandfather Henry Floyd - nearly 7 ft tall and weighing in at 42 stone (a foreman bricklayer) built a pub in Romsey Hants called 'THE BRICKLAYERS ARMS' . He also had his portrait on the wall (we believe the portrait is now in Canada) The pub is now a private house called 'The Bricklayers' Another Gx6 grandfather, John Buckingham, kept 'THE WHITE HORSE' in Orford, Suffolk. My G G Uncle Edward Burt, fell down the stairs and died (aged 77 and we presume happy) at 'THE FREEMANTLE ARMS' in Southampton, in the 1950's maggie

Hi All, My Mum & Dad had a Pub 1938 till 1971 it was called, THE BEE HIVE 1 PRESTON ST BETHNAL GREEN LONDON E.2. But in the 1950s they knock down Preston st and buit an estate, then it was in Roman Rd, any one on here no of Preston st ? or of the Bee Hive. thanks Joan
