My great great grandparents ran the Blue Anchor Inn, Buckley Flintshire 186? -187? My great grandparents, (one their daughter) ran the small village pub 'The Tavern' in Alltami Mold Flintshire (1881 census). Both are still open. Joan

My great great grandparents were licencee of Fox and Hen Pub, Bascote Heath, Warwickshire from 1870's until after 1901.

Hi: Great question, I have been trying to get more info. on my Great Grandfathers Pub. It was called THE EXCHANGE TAVERN. My G. Grandfather was Wm. Hogg. His wife was Janet Hogg, (nee Young) . I have a picture of it dated C 1905. My Grandmother is also in it, her name was Euphemia Hogg. It was in Dalkeith, Scotland, now gone. Anybody know anything about it? Thanks Shiela

The BLUE BELL, Langham run by Massingham ancestors early 19th century The CROWN, Northwold (1932-3) The WHITE/BLACK HORSE (there's one of each) in Hertford early 1930s? Husband's family: The PAKENHAM , Calthorpe Street - still there, painted bright yellow with hanging flower baskets - near the FRC. Ran by various family members 1920s-30s. What a great idea......My g/g/uncle ran a Pub called the Yachtsmans Arms, in Brightlinsea, which I believe is in Essex (not too sure about that) He was born in 1857 and his name was John Sawyer, don't know when he died sadly. He was born in a place called Bures in Suffolk or Essex ....Thanks for suggesting this list...Wonderful...Best Wishes Maureen

Mine is the DERBY ARMS or DERBY INN, known as the TOP DERBY to distinguish it from another Derby Arms in the same road! This was in Barnes Green (Blackley?) Manchester. Think it was great grandad kept the Stags Head in Yorkley, Glos and then moved onto the Bell Inn, Horsley, Glos. Apparently he drank all the money away!

My husband's ancestors were running a pub called KING HENRY V111, King Henry Walk just off the Balls Pond Road, Islington in 1851. Edward Foley was 41 b Lambeth Wife Maria age 37 St Georges Hanover Sq. The children were born either Bermondsey or Islington. They had moved to Essex by 1871 but I have not been able to find them in 1861. When I went up to the LMA I tried to find out about them but the licenses started after 1851. Shirley
