Hi Jess - just a shot in the dark but could you look on 1891 Census for Michael Durkan (often spelt Durkin) would have been about 14, Father's name Anthony and Mother Margaret all born in Ireland. I have Michael on 1901 but don't know if he came over from Ireland alone or with family earlier. Thanks June

Many thanks Jess. Market Place, where you found the Viney's in 1901 is the same address I found them so really weird that I found no children. I think I'll put it down to a senior moment - I have a lot of those. At least now you've found more family members for me. Thanks again Jo

June Report 12 Mar 2005 16:10

Thanks Jess but they are not my Durkins! Michael would have been about 14 in 1891 and they came from Mayo, Ireland and settled in South Shields, Co. Durham. Sorry I should have said that before. The head of the family would be Anthony but don't know age and his wife was Margaret. Anyway thanks for the lookup. regards June.

Jess. i wanted to pass on my good news to you. The Rev Mills Robbins was a curate at Warsash near where I live in 1887 and he is listed on their Web site. I did a 'google' search on his name and he has written a book!!!!! It's called The Robins or Robbins family of England 1908 and it is all based on his genealogy. I will do my utmost to get a copy of it and it should give all the answers!! Jan

Hi Jess it's me again. As you were such a good detective looking for my Vicar, can you try the 1901 for Seymour Hibberd born 1855 in Wiltshire. He had a wife called Susan and they ran an antique business in Salisbury with their sons. Can you see what address is given and whether there are any children. Thanks.
