Please could you do a check to help me eliminate someone. I want to check William and Florence (or Florie - the birth cert is poor) Palmer parents of Thomas born 1.8.1879 born Ratcliff, Stepney, Middx. William's occupation is given as Beer dealer. I checked 1881 census and I think I found mum and dad but no Thomas. Could you possibly re check for me - as I've been wrong before (senior moments) but also check 1891. If he is definitely not there it looks like he might have died and therefore is definitely not my Thomas. Many thanks.

Hi Jess Yes the birth ref you have is correct. I'm afraid I didn't write down any info - at the time I dismissed it as 'it wasn't my Thomas' then later felt I ought to check further incase he was just away from home that day. All I have is a print out from Ancestry.com as follows: Charles A Palmer abt 1881 Ratcliff, Middx Son Ratcliffe Florence Palmer abt 1859 Middx Wife Ratcliffe William Palmer abt 1856 Middx Head Ratcliffe There are no ref no's. Hi Jess. Can you look up Charles Herbert May on the 1871 for me. I think he was born 1865 or 1866 in Devon. I also need Celia Lawry born 10th Aug 1867 in Parr Cornwall. The main reason is to try and find the parents of Charles. I found them both on the 1901 but Celia was then using the name Sarah. If you can get me the parents or an address, it would really help. HAWKINS, Edward (occupation: gardener) and Harriet Sophia (nee Pears) living in the Weston District of Bath, perhaps in Shepherds Gardens. Both born in 1826 so aged 45 in 1871. Family details please? Regards from Phil Hawkins.

Josephine, I have an old family photo with the following: George Fredick Evans 1872 - 1913 George F. Evans (senior) and his wife known as Grande mar (could be french?) Also have a death cert for George Fredrick junior Died at 90 birkhall road Catford 1913 - registered by his father living at 82 birkhall road There are various persons on the photo that I do not know if they are members or married into the family There is albert Ernest Mary elizabeth (1878) married to George fredrick Evans Jnr (12/9/1899) Edward Lillian and charles son of lillian Gertrude. If you could tell me which members are direct Evans I think I will have a start to work from. any help very much appreciated. Big Jules

Sorry to give you grief Jess. All I have for Charles Herbert is that on the 1901 he is a stonemason born 1866 in Devon, so he must be the 5 year old from Lapford. Sarah Celia is a complete mystery. The IGI states she was born in Parr in Cornwall but that group you found is her with her Mum and brother. I'll do a bit of digging around Plymouth now. Jan
