Just got the death cert of one of my ancestor's children, James Bessant. He died aged 1 on 29 Dec 1853 of 'Pertusses: 4 weeks'. Found out that this is more commonly known as whooping cough, and was wondering how someone caught whooping cough? Does anyone know? Chloe |
