Robert - was she deff. named 'Minnie' - or was that a pet name? (There is a laura Millicent taylor born about the right time in Lewisham) Any idea of Fathers name or where parents were born? If you have the marriage ref, prob best to send for the cert to check things like dads name. |

Hi Jess Well ' Hold the front page' You were kindly trying to find, without success, my grt grandparents John & Esther Batchelor. were on the 1881 census at 1 Bohn Street Mile End Old Town. &&&&&&&&&&&& I was doing a general search on the updated FRBMD from 1881 & found a ref to Esther Matilda Batchelor marriage in 1893. I then did a check for death of John Batchelor & came up with one in 1884 aged 37! So am going to get the certs. & if correct would explain why not able to find John on 1891 (altho esther should still be there. Got lost on this track as when their son Arthur(my grandad) married his first wife in 1896 his dad wasnt listed as deceaesd on the marriage cert but when he remarried in 1909 to my nan(they were both widowed) John was listed as deceased so I assumed John had died between the two dates. So !!!!!! thanks for your effforts & will let you know what the certs show] Shirley |

Jess. James Robinson christened 12th Dec 1852 was registered Dec qtr 1852, so he would have been 38/39 yrs old on the 1891. He was born in Portsea Portsmouth and the parents were living in Kent Street Portsea. James Richard Robinson christened 19th July 1886 was registered Sept qtr 1886, so he would have been 5 yrs old in 1891. He was born in Portsmouth. John Robinson christened 23rd Dec 1809 would have been 62 in the 1871 Census. He was born in Gosport Hants and married Maria Stacey in 1852. Thanks Jan |
