Update for Dianne and Crista (seeing as you know my family as well as I do now LOL) I asked Winnie about the Bennet mystery and apparently when she was about 7 she was playing in the street and a woman asked if they knew where William Beament lived, they said no never heard of him. She told her mum about it when she went in for her tea and her mum and grandad shouted at her. Grandad said 'You silly devil that's me, it would have been the woman who's coming to see about my pension'. She couldn't see how she was supposed to know as everyone called him Bill Bennett. Mystery solved. How many names does one man need???????? Thanks for all of your help Mandy Not bad going for a 93 year old she remembers more about her childhood than I do! (but then again I wouldn't remember much of her childhood coz I wasn't there!) |
