Army research price...

I recently emailed a gentleman who I always see advertised in Family Tree mag for research at Kew. I emailed him with the details I have, asking for a cost. He said it would cost £20 including any photocopies. Is that a good price? It's not as extortionate as I was expecting. I do know a bit about my army ancestor, but would love the records to go with, pension papers, discharge papers. But what if all I get is one sheet of paper?? Then it wouldn't be worth it. The gentleman's name is Brian Walker. And the research would be in the mid to late 1800s. Has anyone used him before?
