My gggrandmother, Catherine elizabeth Wotherspoon was born in 1849 in Demera, West Indies. Her father was Alexander who married Martha Hodgson. He was an engineer and held a partnership with two brothers in a plantation in the West Indies, possibly Trinidad. It appears he died in the caribbean and was buried there. After many attempts to obtain plantation records from Kew and contacting those of a similar name in Liverpool, I find I am no nearer finding him. Martha Hodgson was born around 1822 in Liverpool. Any advice would be appreciated. Ron
