Hello Jess, Its me again but not looking for Italians this time I promise!!!!! I wonder if you can help find George Edgar Dawson registered at birth as Edgar George Dawson born 1874,Ryde,Isle of Wight. I would like to find him in 1891 age 15-16 yrs. He was not with his parents in Ryde RG12/891.pg 12 Cornwall Street,Ryde,I.,O.W. Nor with his brother in 6&7 Union Street Ryde. By 1901 he was living in 7 Balls Pond Road ,Hackney,Islington age 25 as a Hairdressers Manager working from home. Have him on the 81 age 6 living in Union Street,Ryde. I would love to know where he disappeared to in 1891 and who he was living with! Hope you can help Best wishes Jenny |

Wow Thanks Jess, Do you think it's him I never knew about a possible boating connection and the place of birth is wrong but if he was lying about his age could be lying about place of birth as well! Was there any other probables George Edgar's or Edgar George's?? Best wishes Jenny |

Thanks Jess, can you get copies of census. would be interested in the first one you sent me (sailor boy)& the Isle of Wight birth? Don't think its the ones that say son is right as I already have his parents in Ryde in 1891. Best wishes Jenny |

In the 1871 England & Wales census for District of Pancras (London), MARY GARRETT is shown as "wife" with the three other of her children including a domestic servant (Fanny Garrett). The "head" however is not shown as he must have died before the last infant (William aged 4 monhs) was born. I have been trying to locate my (ARTHUR) grandfather's dad for quite a long time whose name was also WILLIAM and probably his last child was named after him. In a FreeBMD search I found an Index for Jan-Mar 1870 for District of Strand, Vol 1B Page 434 which could be the person I am looking for but this does not give an evidence of his wife's name. What can I do, please? |
