I think you're right. I'll say that's them. But will still keep my eyes open for any others. Many thanks for your help. |

If you look at the 1891 image, the name could be LIGHTFOOT and not LIGHTFORD. There isn't a cross to the T and there are two lower case squiggles which could be almost anything which has neither a hanging nor a sticking-up bit. On the other hand that also means there's no spare loop for the 'd' after the o and r. I propose to offer that as another interpretation on the Ancestry site. I'd be inclined to claim them unless anything more plausible turns up: it's the right combination of ages and first names. The address is Burr Bank.... I think! As for a number the sequence on the page is: 3 - 5 - 9 - [no number] - 4 - 7 Guess which one your probable family lives at! - Yes, the no-number house. Christine |

Sorry ladies, just missed Mary off when I typed. Still doesn't explain where they went, unless it is the Lightfords that you found. Worth a look I think |

Hello, Again I think this birth looks promising: Name: Lightfoot, Frances Mary Record Type: Births Quarter: September Year: 1875 District: Scarborough County: East Riding of Yorkshire North Riding of Yorkshire Volume: 9d Page: 360 It's only slightly late, so could just be a delayed registration. It's the only Mary Lightfoot transcribed so far for the period 1873-75 who was also registered in Scarboro'. And, of course, the first name is very persuasive! Hope David comes back soon! Christine |

I'm not sure where your 1881 list was transcribed to/from, but (after looking at the image on Ancestry) Francis shows as 51 on the image and Mary, aged 7, scholar , appears to be missing from your list. Mary would probably be the 'May'. Christine |

Thanks Trudy. It just amazes me how a full family can disappear off the face of the earth. They weren't well off so I can't imagine they've gone abroad and even if they had why would they want to come back to sunny scarborough. |

Hi David - I had this with my dad's side of the family, there on the 1871, 1881 & 1901, but adbucted by aliens on the 1891 - finally found them after about four months mistranscribed in a manned I'd never have thought of (found by some kind person on here after I'd nearly lost my marbles!). So don't give up, keep hunting!! Trudy |

Francis sounds close. He was born in Filey and was a fisherman but Ann's a bit young and have no idea who May is. Closest i've come though |
