Can someone find Henry? Searching for baptism / parents of Henry SHEATH whose census details say he was born c.1813 in Beaulieu, Hampshire. I have checked parish registers on fiche at Record office and there was a SHEATH couple having children baptised in Beaulieu at that time, - but no Henry.... Thomas the 'father' was a blacksmith as was Henry. There is even a gap between their children, where Henry would fit. I have tracked the other children incase Henry was in fact baptised with a different name but they are all separate individuals. By 1841 Thomas was in Isle of Wight and Henry had moved to Southampton so no chance of finding them together. I'd love to get further back from Henry. Can anyone help?

I've hunted off-and-on for this chap for years. His details come from a family pedigree begun by the Heralds Visitations of Dorset and later added to by a descendant -so I'm reasonably sure he existed. He was Thomas GOULD, eldest twin son of Nicholas GOULD & Mary STILLMAN, b.1780 Trowbridge Wilts. He is named in his father's will. I have a sneaking suspicion he was a 'bad lad'.because the family estates were divvied up among all his brothers. According to the family pedigree, he married Ann LONGHURST 24 Nov 1846 Trinity Church Lambeth (I can't find the record). She seems to have been a working class gal from all I can find out in subsequent census. His eldest son, Edward Wentworth GOULD, was born (again from family pedigree, but this time confirmed from other sources) 27 Nov 1846 ,Blackfriars Surrey -a bit close to the wedding, I thought. Also, Thomas was 66 yrs at the time and Ann only 25. Another son, Frederick Wentworth GOULD was born 17 Dec 1848 St John's Wood Middlesex. Thomas died (according to family pedigree)16 Jun 1856 (can't find record) and buried in All Souls Cemetery Kensall Green. His wife Ann seems to have brought up her sons in 'trade' and as far as I can see, had no contact with her husband's family. However, they must have known about her, because when the chap who added to the original GOULD pedigree was doing his bit, he actually wrote to Thomas' sons. Frederick's descendants in America have a copy of his work as well as the original letter/s. My problem is that I don't know where to look for Thomas on either the 1841 or 1851 census -somewhere in London, I presume from the locations of his sons' births. I don't know why I cannot find a record of his marriage or death. And I want to know why his widow had to resort to child minding in Greenwich (1861) -did Thomas gamble away all his inheritance? Beverley from Perth Western Australia

Posted a couple of times before but here goes...... Albert Gurney was born c.1803 and I would like to find details of his baptism. He married Susannah Glasscock by licence in 1831 in Lambeth. In 1841 he is living in St Pancras and is not born in the county (Middlesex). His occupation is 'traveller' on the Census. Daughter Mary born c.1835, can't find her baptism. His son Richard was born 1842, Albert's occupation is 'gentleman' on the birth certificate. Albert died later in 1842 of disease of the heart aged 39, occupation was again 'gentleman' on the death certificate. Have tried tracing a Will but no luck. Anyone got any ideas where I could look next?

This is my hard to find relation and it looks as if he sailed away, never to return!! Benjamin Robinson married Sarah Furness 27th January 1806 in St.Thomas Church Portsmouth. She was a local girl and he was a seaman from HMS Le Tonnant. I have their children. Three were born in Gosport and three were born in Portsmouth. I can't find anymore on him, so that's as far back as I can get with the Robinsons.

I have been trying to find an ARTHUR MANNING supposedly born in Norwich around 1875, I have him on the 1901 census where he his married to an AGNES, he has two children 1 called AGNES and 1 called ARTHUR. He is living in Norfolk at this time. I have a copy of his marriage certificate from 1897 which states his fathers name as being HENRY MANNING, I can find no trace of an Arthur or Henry in Norwich on either the 1891 or 1881 census. Arthur died in 1940 and was living in Stowmarket, Suffolk at that time. He also had five other children, ELVINA, FREDERICK and EDITH I haven't as yet found the names of the other two children these were all born after 1901 so do not appear on the census. He also had a second wife called EDITH Who he married in 1906

Hi all, Will try and look for some of the above for you because I love a challenge! Here's my MASSIVE brick wall. Looking for THOMAS GEORGE DEARSON in the 1861 census. He should be around 5 years old. According to 1881/91/1901 census, he was born 1856ish in Stratford/Plaistow, Essex area. Think I have him in 1871 census(age is slightly out) He married in 1879, and he gave his fathers name as ALBERT GEORGE DEARSON. Again I can find no trace of him either (in any census) Been searching for at least 4 years for them, with no luck YET. Any help would be great. best wishes Jackie x
