Have William in 1854 Gt George ST Bemondsey st James church Surrey..father deceased..occup mariner inconclusive with witnesses to Inconclusive 1851 Possible in 1841....but fathers name doesn't match.... This one is a real conundrum Anything appreciated

hi im still looking for John Henry Gater death cert says born 1st August 1893 hampstead. His wedding cert says he was 26 when married to mabel bettyes in 1919. He joined london fusiliers in 1915, left army in 1919. There is no record of birth or on the 1901 census. His father name on marriage cert says frank gater deceased. Ive been searching for 5yrs! Its not the john henry born in holborn 1897 as he died in 1929. Any help will be greatly appreciated

Ive found a few harriet crumps but not born birmingham area. Have found these 2 births though-it is possible that she was born witha different name,and used harriet later,say as a married name,or it was originally a middle name. Lucy Crump Dudley 1839 Sarah ann crump West Brom 1840. Want to persue these? What evidence birmingham?

Hello All, Elizabeth Potter (Belfast Ireland) married James Donaldson (Errol Perthshire) in Sydney Australia , 3/2/1917, aged 27 years. Marriage certificate states that Elizabeth's father was an Edward Potter (Gardener) (England) was deceased and mother (Unknown deceased)(possibly Irish). Can anyone give me some idea how I can trace Elizabeth's mother and her father? I am only new at all of this!

Caroline WISE b 1853 Bloxham, Oxfordshire. Last found in Reading Union Workhouse 1891. Had lived with Thomas (Tom) BOYLES, a farrier/blacksmith until 1889/1890. Had Tom b1879, Charles (1881-1883), Harry b1883, Mary Ann b1884, Ellen b1887 & Kate b1889 - all registered in name of BOYLES. Baby Kate was in the workhouse with her mother. Tom, Harry, Mary Ann & Ellen (Nellie) were inmates in Reading & Wokingham District School in 1891. Caroline and her children had reverted to the name of WISE in 1891. After 2 years of searching I can't find anything, anywhere after that date. Emily

Hi, Please could anyone help me fine on the 1871 census: Ann(e) Maria or Hannah Maria Shackleton aged about 27 although she seems to have altered her age slightly in later life. Her son John Shackleton aged about 9. Both these people were born in Haslingden Lancs. Ann had links with the Burnley area. She was unmarried and always lived with other relatives. I have found her on the 1851, 1861, 1881, 1891 and 1901 census's but she seems to have escaped the 1871 census. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Margaret, If we ignore the Skipton location first,which is not proven for the marriage,there are only 2 marriages that involve a Frederick percival marrying a mary in the space of 20 years !! Frederick Percival March 1883 Ormskirk 8b 944=Mary Ellen Astbury. Also September 1883 either mary hart or mary Turner married a Frederick Percival Nantwich 8a 466(cert would clarify which one) Any other matches involved london.

Please, please could anyone help, I am trying to find the maiden name of the wife of Frederic Percival. Fred was born in Redmire Yorkshire around 1862 and his wife Mary was born around 1859 in Bury. They lived in Skipton and I think that is where they married. I have found a marriage for a Frederic Percival in 1882 Sept quarter vol 9a Page 70 but no Mary. For Julie Samuels: re Joseph Beaumont 1857/8 Julie Ive found following on 1871, you have probobally seen it before, however looking at household on image there is no 'head' or 'wife' recorded, but rather a 'lodger' and two children Joseph 14yrs and Clara 12yrs. Im wondering if the Lodger could be a aunt/relative as opposed to being their mother, she is a widow, occupation seamstress. The mother may have been away on census night, or with her husband Joseph the commercial travellor. James Peter Martin, died June 1943, (found this with your help after someone suggested that he may have died away from home). Married May Bohanna in Fleetwood in October 1939. Census 1901 - invisible to me! Census 1891 - invisible again! Born: 1889 according to ages on certs I have but I cannot find him on the index! Any takers? Oh, and part of the problem is that I was following the wrong Henry as his father for four years, and that I don't have any idea of where he was born! Thank you Abigail
