Hi Kim, Tried this today for first time! I am probably being really thick, managed to search for my name LORD by putting it in top box right hand side.under Durham & then sunderland this only bought up ones I already had. How to you do the village or Church trawl because when I did not enter a name but searched still under the Durham page but people came up in Renfew scotland for about three pages worth couldn't find any Lords in Durham. What am I doing wrong? Please explain in really simple step by step,an idiots guide as I 'm feeling particularly dense today. Thanks so much Jenny

Kim Thank you so much for putting this on the boards. Although I have been 'here' for a year I too didn't realise that it was possible to search the records in this way. It is brill when you need to widen the search but don't have enough information to look through Familysearch records in the normal way. Thank you

Is it me? I thought that this thread had disappeared completely, then reappeared last night but only part of it, and now it seems to be completely returned? Please someone, tell me if this has really happened, or have I spent too long in a whisky distillery?

I believe you are right, Lee. This Hugh Wallis chap certainly knew what he was doing. This all takes me back to the days of my youth (going to show my age now). CND marches, sitting around cross-legged (wish I could still do that!), singing 'We shall not be moved'. I do wonder if the younger generation has the same stamina as we had - there again, the whole world is a tougher place now so maybe they need to spend more time fighting for themselves. Here endeth the first lesson.
