Swaffham burials

I am trying to find out if my husbands grandfather is buried in a church/cemetry in the Swaffham/ East Dereham area of Norfolk. He could of died anytime between 1930 and present day but I believe he was still alive in the 1960's. Is it a case of writing to each church. I would write to relevant surnames in the area but due to the 'delicate' situation, if you get my drift, it could come as a bit of a shock that he has this grandson. Any suggestions as to the best way to go?
