please can anyone help me,i need advice how to find details of my g/grandparents.there names were albert edwin phillips and seraphina phillips of yeovil somerset.im trying to find her maiden name and his familys names.i have one birth cert for my nan and it says her name was andrews,yet there is nothing about her before she was married,also cant trace albert at all before he was married,seraphina was born1865 and albert was born1864, can anyone help me please,im really struggling,thankyou joy

well what can i say,im amazed,still confused but amazed.but which ones the right one,in the 1901 census albert and seraphina are there with my nan ivy gertrude and a james hallett,my cousin ive been told has birth cert of ivy and it says she was an andrews,now it gets dodgy.[by the way james hallatt is a laundryman.]it also says birthplace yeovil for them,OH GOD IM SO CONFUSED. wgere do i go from hear,valium please

Suggesting a marriage date of about 1882ish. I think the marriage I found right at the start is the right one, and before she married she went by the name Polly. I've posted the family in 1881 (6th message from the top). Seraphina is down as Polly and her mum and dad are Matthew and Susan. Unless that is her recorded as Granddaughter named Sophia (she is the right age and I could see that Seraphim might have been mis-read. it's the granddaughter that was the dodgy bit)!!! You would need to search 1837 for Seraphims birth record (bearing in mind her first name is quite likely to be Polly!) Good Luck Sarah
