Deborah I cant find a Benjamin/Ben Sibbald at all in 1891

Hi Jess thanks for the Sibbald info,I am now more confused than ever. This has to be the right family as my aunt said my grandmothers brother James Sibbald was always called Pine street Jimmy. Jimmys father was Benjamin Sibbald born 1882/1883(died in 1916 aged 33) and in 1891 I have him on the census living at 69 Carnaby Terrace Gateshead with his mother Elizabeth mcKenszie.There seems to be no birth listed for Benjamin and his mother was a widow in 1881 and still in 1891. I have today sent off for Bens marriage but am not holding out for a father to be listed. In 1881 Elizabeth McKenzie is living with her father Robert Sibbald born 1831 Scotland and her children called Mckenzie The youngest Charles is then called Sibbald by 1891 not Mckenzie. As Ben died in an asylum he was not registered by his family and there is no date of birth just age.It does give his home address as 105 Pine street. If I havent confused you I have myself even more ,must be the heat. Could you perhaps look at the 1891 census to see if there are any other Benjamin Sibbalds in Gateshead born after 1881 census but no later than 1883 Thank you Deborah

jess ,you kindly did a look up for potter -bond and found them for me . the 1871 census is the same family and so is the 1861 .the link from potter to potter- bond is that william born 1811 married mary ann bond but the question is why do you think they used the women 's surname as well as the man's any ideas please catherine
