Bob, I'm not printing out the list of Cats on this site (none, I am proud to say, related to the cats who recently resided on this board) but none of them appear to be serious either.

Oh, honestly, this does make me really fed up. Don't we have enough to contend with, wading through mistranscriptions/people's sparkling wit etc on Census returns, Ancestry, IGI etc, without having it on here as well? Do GR ever look at anything on this site, other than illegally humorous threads? When I joined Gr, it was in the hope that only those serious about family history research would be members, and that all the information on this site would be as accurate as those serious members could make it. I have of course, long since realised that this is not intended to be a serious genealogical site but I am getting fed up of GR pretending that it is. Might as well save my sub and go back to trying to decipher the IGI and the various pedigrees on the LDS site. No wonder this site has 36 million names - the IGI has even more, but they arent all accurate or even real, either. And at least the LDS site is free. Grumpy Old Crone

Folks, read now or 'morrow, last call tonight, I like to think that I am a quick learner. Seriously this site is just a vessel for the people that help us searchers. The interim banter is harmless, its human. The successes speak for themselves. I suggest that for my case the lost cause is never lost. Bob You are obviously not aware that I am a Prime Offender, (a marked woman), guilty of the GR crime of posting to amusing threads on the wrong boards! My moan is not about the humour on the boards but about the needless clogging up of people's so-called trees with infantile stuff such as BobBobBob. I expect peoples trees on this site to be as accurate as they can make them. If GR cannot come up with some way of weeding out this rubbish then how can we take this site seriously. I remain a member because I take pleasure (well, I used to) in the dafter threads, have learnt a lot of genuine genealogical info and had some incredibly generous help. All this from fellow members. All GR have done for me is allow me to log on and then they occasionally delete a totally innocuous thread of mine, simply because some unnamed person, motivated by spite, has complained about it - not just me, but noticeably many people who posted to a certain thread and some of those people were kicked off the site altogether. Sorry, I am getting pretty incoherent, I see...time for bed! Old Crone.

Check out Super Man born 2002 Kryptonite This is crazy after all the fuss about people having a bit of fun on the boards and others are able to add this rubbish. Maybe we should get a list of the people adding this stuff and complain to GR. Wouldn't hold out much hope of action given the problems I have had previously getting them to remove some of my family members from another persons list. It would make more sense to regularly check the info on here, how many people have names on here and yet are impossible to contact. What is the point of that? Christine in NZ
